Expectations shape our experiences, filling us with dread or eager anticipation of an event. These forecasts can make you feel a goal or task is a fundamental, worthwhile challenge, or an impossible dream.
Perhaps you want to lose weight, and say to yourself, “I can easily lose weight because I have lots of tools to help me.” Or say, “I am excited to see how fast I can feel healthier and how soon I can fit into those smaller pants.” Or, you could feel discouraged before you begin because you’ve struggled to lose weight in the past.
